What Got Us Started

As the lead concert technician and also a rebuilder, I have the pleasure to service and design some of the finest pianos in my state, as well as some of the "not so fine" pianos. Due to these experiences, I grew frustrated with the market’s offerings on pianos for regular families. Although some piano brands claim to use quality parts, they often neglect a critical aspect of the piano: the touch. Many of these modern pianos have an excessively heavy action, making them unsuitable for advanced pianists to practice on effectively, especially when compared to pianos from the golden era of classical music, which had a lighter and faster touch. This lighter and faster action was what classical music was written for, allowing  famous composers to fully express their intricate compositions.

My clients were overpaying for poorly designed pianos, while the truly excellent instruments were unaffordable to most. This combination put me in a difficult position as a technician to recommend new pianos to general clients.

Recognizing this gap, I embarked on a long and intensive research and development phase, collaborating with piano factories abroad and supply companies to find a solution that balanced affordability, quality, and excellent touch design. After testing several prototype models, I successfully launched my own brand in my local city. To test the market, I began by selling a small batch of pianos. To my surprise, they sold out within two months with minimal advertising. This success confirmed my belief in the strong demand for well-crafted, reasonably priced pianos. It inspired me to continue developing and expanding my brand, keeping costs down while offering products to a much wider range of customers.

MEET DAVID

A classically trained pianist, David was first introduced to piano tuning and technology at the age of 16. Fascinated by the depth of this field, he began pursuing piano technology through a series of intensive educational and training opportunities while still continuing his music degree as a piano major. Upon completing his Bachelors and Masters degree in music at the University of Alaska Anchorage, his rapid growing reputation as a piano technician allowed him to become a full time piano technician at a fairly young age.
